Social Skills ABA in Orange County, CA

As a parent, you may want to find peers for your child to improve their social skills. However, children on the spectrum may need specialized support to address individual needs. FAQ's

What are social skills groups in ABA therapy?

Social skills groups in ABA therapy are structured sessions where children practice peer interaction, conversation, turn-taking, emotional regulation, and problem-solving in a supportive environment. In our Orange County social skills ABA programs, children work with trained behavior specialists to build real-world communication skills using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis techniques.

ABA therapy improves social skills by breaking complex social behaviors into manageable steps and teaching them through modeling, role-play, reinforcement, and guided peer interaction. Our Orange County social skills ABA services focus on helping children with autism develop conversation skills, friendship-building strategies, and confidence in group settings.

Social skills ABA services are designed for children and teens who struggle with peer interaction, communication, or social confidence. Many of the families we serve in Orange County have children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other developmental differences that impact social development.

Children can begin social skills ABA as early as preschool if delays in communication or peer interaction are present. Early intervention often leads to stronger long-term outcomes. We offer age-appropriate social skills programs for children and teens throughout Orange County.

Each client is paired with one or more peers at a similar level of functioning, allowing all participants to benefit from shared interaction. While every child has individualized goals and receives 1:1 support from a behavior technician, they also engage in group activities designed to build social skills. The social skills leader plans structured activities, and behavior technicians create opportunities throughout the session to help each child practice their goals in a peer group setting.

Yes- we bill it the same as we do for 1:1 direct therapy since each child is paired 1:1 with a behavior technician. This is different from billing as “group therapy” where one BT bills for multiple clients.
